PAWZ Graduation Day!

I was very lucky to be invited to be the photographer for this wonderful event by my friend and colleague Jane Williamson! PAWZ for Wounded Veterans program is a chapter of Canine Support Team’s who’s Mission is to provide specially trained assistance/service dogs to people with disabilities to support their personal, social, and occupational independence. On this day a great group of folks that I was lucky enough to spend time with during their service dog training we recognized and graduated from the program. It was a fun day with great food and company hosted by at the gorgeous Monteleone Meadows. Some of the veterans like Elmer Ugarte who received special mention and gave a very moving speech. Thank you Elmer! Another moving speech given by Carol Roquemore who is one of the founders of the Prison-Based Dog Training Program in California, and is Vice President and Training Manager. Carol’s commitment and devoted efforts are remarkable, this one strong and admirable lady. Her words reach deep and I feel the community is lucky to have her!

Hot Country Nights to Benefit Paws for Wounded Veterans – Service Dogs

Here are a few of my favorite shots from Hot Country Night Benefit for Pawz for Wounded Vets Program. Pawz for Wounded Vets provide service dogs free of charge to those who have been wounded in the service in need of mobility, independence, unconditional love, and the companionship an assistance dog offers.

Hot Country Nights lived up to it name it was quite hot but many showed up to give their support anyway and everyone had a great time dancing and participating in the raffle and Silent Auction. The fundraiser sported a lively band, The Silverados,  rocked the evening with live country music. We had a great time hanging out with our friends Donna Willis, the Canine Support Team Staff and many volunteers who organized and helped at the event. We met lots of great people and some really super awesome doggies!
